Mental Conflict

I often find myself in conflict with the choices I've made, even though it was the right one. I'm starting to understand no matter the situation I will be battling. Rather it's mental nefarious entities or people. What is the purpose of the mortal battle between the soul and brain everyone endures? Between who we truly are than who we try to convince we are. Maybe us fighting is the problem.
